The 309th Missile Regiment was transferred to the 46th Missile Division 14.6.62.
1.7.62 renamed 51st Missile Division for operations in Cuba, together with the 664th Guards, 665th and 668th Missile Regiments.
8.10.62 reformed in Romny, Sumy Oblast, as the 43rd Guards Missile Division, from the 18th Guards Missile Division.
10.10.62 the 664th Guards, 665th and 668th Missile Regiments were reformed from the 704th Guards, 717th and 718th Missile Regiments.
4.1.63 absorbed the 51st Missile Division, returning from Cuba.
In August 1969 two new regiments were formed within the division (546th and 552nd), but both were transferred to the 46th Missile Division in September 1973.
From 25.5.72 the 433rd Guards Missile Regiment was attached to the division.
