Activated 1.12.60 in Gaisin, Vinnitsa Oblast, under the 19th Missile Division, from the 43rd Guards Mortar Brigade.

The regiment consisted of one battalion with 4 R-14 (SS-5) pads and two battalions with each 3 R-14 silos

The first battalion went on alert duty 17.1.62 (four R-14 pads), followed by the second and third battalions in 1964 (six R-14 silos).

Red Banner awarded in 1968.

25.5.72 transferred to the 43rd Guards Missile Division.

The three battalions stood down in 1978.

12.1.79 transferred to Nizhniy Tagil, Sverdlovsk Oblast, attached to the 42nd Missile Division.

The regiment went on alert duty 24.12.80 with 9 RSD-10 Pioner-K (15P645K) (SS-20) missiles

The regiment stood down 7.85, and began conversion to the RT-2PM (15P158) (SS-25) missile - alert duty from 11.9.87 with 9 missiles.

US designation: Granov IRBM complex (Granov 1 & 2, and Kalnik launch sites). Type III (pad) and IV (silo) sites.
