60th Missile Regiment

Activated 1.9.61 at Pultovtsy, Vinnitsa Oblast, under the 19th Missile Division.
The regiment consisted of two battalions with each 4 R-12 (SS-4) pads and one battalion with 4 R-12 silos
The first and second battalion went on alert duty in 1962 (eight R-12 pads), followed by the third battalion in 1963 (four R-12 silos).
From 25.5.72 directly attached to the 43rd Missile Army, and 1.12.72 renamed 60th Independent Missile Regiment.
The three battalions stood down in 1984, and on 15.10.84 the regiment was transferred to Vysokaya Rech, Zhitomir Oblast, under the 50th Missile Division.
The regiment went on alert duty 1985 with 9 RSD-10 Pioner-K (15P645K) (SS-20) missiles (missiles from Yurya or Nizhniy Tagil).
The regiment stood down in 1990, and was disbanded.
US designation: Zhmerinka MRBM complex (Gnivan, Zhmerinka and Vinnitsa launch sites). Type II (pad) and IV (silo) sites.

Two alternative fixed field sites for the pad launchers, were set up at Vinnitsa (49 13 15N, 28 19 00E) and Bar (49 05 26N, 27 42 55E), but both appeared to be inactive by 1967.
