In 10.62 two regiments were transferred to the 49th Guards Missile Division (142nd and 306th), while the 85th Guards Missile Regiment was added to the division. The division HQ was moved to Pruzhany, Brest Oblast.
In April 1980 the 638th Guards Missile Regiment left for the 49th Guards Missile Division.
