Activated 7.6.46 in Kostroma, Kostroma Oblast, from the 105th Guards Rifle Division.

Organisation 1947:

18.2.49 the 345th Guards Air Landing Regiment were converted and renamed 345th Guards Parachute Regiment.

In 1949 the 13th independent Air-Landing Security Company was disbanded.

15.11.53 re-organized:

5.5.55 the 111th Guards Parachute Regiment joined the division, from the disbanded 11th Guards Airborne Division.

30.4.55 the 148th independent Tank Destroyer Battalion was activated, and the 579th independent Guards Self-Propelled Artillery Battalion was renamed the 76th independent Guards Self-Propelled Artillery Battalion.

In 2.59 the 115th independent Military-Transport Aviation Squadron was activated with 10 An-2 aircraft.

In 1971 the 612th Air-Landing Security Battalion was activated.

1.10.76 the 892nd independent Rocket Artillery Battalion was disbanded, and was absorbed by the Artillery Regiment, while the 46th independent Equipment Maintenance and Recovery Battalion was activated from the independent repair shop.

Organisation 1979:

1.10.79 to 1.12.79 disbanded:

30.12.90 re-activated in Fergana, Fergana Oblast.

Still not fully formed 28.5.92, when it was taken over by Uzbekistan.
