Military Unit: 44236, from 1969: 22162
Activated 7.60 in Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk Kray, under the 211th Missile Brigade, and from 5.61 the 36th Guards Missile Division.
1963 with 3 battalions at three sites:
1st Battalion with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 1964 (possibly BSP-1)
2nd Battalion with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 22.2.64 (possibly BSP-2)
3rd Battalion with 3 R-16 silos - alert duty from 1965 (possibly BSP-11)
Both the BSP-1 and 2 sites were started as Type IIC sites (R-9A - SS-8 pads), but were abandoned shortly after construction began. A new BSP-1 site was built just south of the original BSP-1 site (a launch clearing can still be seen at 56 21 05N, 92 20 32E), while a new BSP-2 site was built on top of the old BSP-2 site.
In March 1964 all battalions were upgraded to regiments:
1st Battalion remained as 755th Missile Regiment, now with 2 R-16 pads (possibly BSP-1)
2nd Battalion became 790th Missile Regiment with 3 R-16 pads (possibly BSP-2)
3rd Battalion became 000 Missile Regiment with 3 R-16 silos (possibly BSP-11)
In 1969 the BSP-1(?) site was transferred to the 000 Missile Regiment, and the regiment was transferred to Derzhavinsk, Turgay Oblast, under the 38th Missile Division.
The regiment went on alert duty 22.1.71 with 6 R-36 (8K67) (SS-9) missiles at site BRK-8.
The regiment stood down in 1980, and converted to the R-36MUTTKh (SS-18) missile - alert duty from 1980.
