Activated 31.12.60 in Svobodnyy, Amur Oblast, from the 72nd Tank Regiment - initially under the 133rd Missile Brigade, from 5.61 the 27th Missile Division.

Never operational with the R-16 missile, and controlled no BSP site.

In 1.8.64 transferred to Aleysk, Altai Kray under the 41st Guards Missile Division.

5.65 transferred to Zhangiz-Tobe, Semipalatinsk Oblast, under the 57th Missile Division.

The regiment went on alert duty 31.12.66 with 6 R-36 (8K67) (SS-9) silos at site BRK-2.

Named Leninskogo Komsomola in 10.68.

The regiment stood down 1977, and converted to the R-36M (15A15) (SS-18) - alert duty from 31.10.77.

The regiment stood down 1982, and converted to the R-36MUTTKh (15A18) - alert duty from 1982.

Disbanded 1995.
