Activated 6.60 in Sary-Ozek, Taldy-Kurgan Oblast, under the 48th Missile Brigade, from 30.5.61 the 53rd Missile Division.
The regiment consisted of one battalion with 4 R-14 (SS-5) pads, and two battalions with each 3 R-14 silos.
The first battalion went on alert duty 11.2.62 (four R-14 pads), followed by the second battalion 19.2.63 (three R-14 silos) and the third battalion 10.12.64 (three R-14 silos).
The three battalions were transferred to the 68th Missile Brigade in 1965, and the regiment was disbanded.
Re-activated 1966 in Kartaly, Chelyabinsk Oblast, under the 59th Missile Division.
The regiment went on alert duty 19.8.67 with 6 R-36 (8K67) (SS-9) missiles at site BRK-3.
The regiment stood down 5.2.74, and began conversion to the R-36M (SS-18 missile) - alert duty from 14.10.77.
The regiment stood down 1981, and began conversion to the R-36MUTTKh (SS-18 missile) - alert duty from 1981.
Disbanded 1.12.03.
