Activated 1.9.61 at Taybola, Murmansk Oblast, under the 40th Missile Division.

The regiment consisted of two battalions with each 3 R-14 (SS-5) silos. A third battalion with 3 R-14 silos never became operational, and the launch site was abandoned while under construction in 1964.

The first battalion went on alert duty 5.2.63 (three R-14 silos), and the second battalion 12.11.63 (three R-14 silos).

The battalions stood down 15.2.84, and on 28.8.84 the regiment moved to Kansk, Krasnoyarsk Kray, now attached to the 23rd Guards Missile Division.

The regiment went on alert duty with 9 RSD-10 Pioner-UTTKh (15P653) (SS-20) missiles in 1984.

The regiment stood down 10.88, and began conversion to the RT-2PM (SS-25) missile - went on alert duty 12.10.91 with 9 missiles.

The regiment stood down in mid-2006, and was disbanded 1.12.06.
