Activated 8.59 in Uralsk, Orenburg Oblast, as the 324th Engineering Regiment RVGK - awards from the 102nd Motorised-Rifle Regiment - subordinated to the ShRCh (Staff of Reactive Parts).

10.59 transferred to Ukmerge, Lithuania - subordinated to the 85th Engineer Brigade RVGK.

1.7.60 renamed 324th Missile Regiment, now attached to the 24th Guards Missile Division.

Organisation:

The regiment did not have any warheads until after April 1961.

From 13.12.61 attached to the 58th Missile Division.

The two battalions stood down in 1989, and the regiment was disbanded shortly thereafter (1989).

US designation: Ukmerge MRBM complex (Vepriai and Ukmerge launch sites). Type I (pad) sites.

Two alternative fixed field sites for the pad launchers, were set up at Gelvonai (55 07 29N, 24 43 36E) and Balninkai (55 13 00N, 25 01 29E), but both was apparently inactive by 1967.
