12. Flak-Division

Ia:

Formed 22.9.41 in Voisin from Stab/Flak-Brigade IX, and moved to Central Russia (28.9.41 at Ripshevo). In May 1942 took over the southern part of Heeresgruppe Mitte (2nd and 4th Armee) with:

Stab/Flak-Regiment 34 (v) and Stab/Flak-Regiment 134 (mot.) was added in 12.43.

Organisation 1.3.44 (attached to the 2nd Armee):

Stab/Flak-Brigade 10 (mot.) became independent in 4.44, leaving the division with the following organisation (1.5.44):

Escaped most of the destruction of Heeeresgruppe Mitte in June 1944, 7.44 at Baranovitschi, and later at Mlawa.

Reorganised in 8.44, now with (1.9.44):

Stab/Flak-Regiment 101 (mot.) was disbanded in 9.44, and was replaced by Stab/Flak-Regiment 31 (v).

Stab/Flak-Regiment 23 (mot.) joined the division in 10.44.

Organisation 1.12.44:

Stab/Heimat-Flak-Abteilung 60./VIII was briefly attached to the division during 10.44 - 11.44.

1945 saw service at the Weichsel estuary (1.45 HQ at Modlin-Lomza) and at Danzig (2nd Armee). 1.3.45 at Glettkau under II. Flakkorps, 8.3.45 at Danzig-Oliva. On 10.4.45 left the frontline and moved to Swinemünde, and was to have been transported to Pilsen, but ended up in Berlin instead.
