Activated 15.5.73 in Plesetsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast, under the 2nd Test Department, Plesetsk Test Center (53rd NIIP).

The unit would conduct space launches with the Tsiklon-3 (11K68) launch vehicle.

From 7.74 under the 1st Test Department.

Plesetsk Test Center - Launch Site 25 - two pads (62 54 24N, 40 47 16E)

• construction began July 1971 - part of the old BSP-32 area was included

• highly-automated launch complex - a pad erector would place the launcher into vertical position

• Tsiklon-3 (11K68) - first launch 24.7.77 (pad 2) and 23.1.80 (pad 1) - both pads still in use
