Activated 31.3.64 in Nizhniy Tagil, Sverdlovsk Oblast, from the 67th independent Missile Battalion, under the 42nd Missile Division.

The regiment controlled site BSP-2 with 2 R-16 (SS-7) pads - alert duty from 31.10.61

The regiment stood down in 1969 (BSP-2 site to the 580th Missile Regiment), and was transferred to Derzhavinsk, Turgay Oblast, attached to the 38th Missile Division.

The regiment went on alert duty 25.8.70 with 6 R-36 (8K67) (SS-9) missiles at site BRK-4.

The regiment stood down in 1980 and converted to the R-36MUTTKh (SS-18) missile - alert duty from 1980.

Disbanded 1995.
