Activated 18.4.73 in Leninsk, Kzyl-Orda Oblast, under the 4th Test Department, Baikonur Test Center (5th NIIP).

The units main tasks was missile/complex tests and orbital launches with the UR-500 (Proton) launcher.

• two 8K82K pads - built 2.71-1976

• PU39 (left) - first launch 20.2.80 (Raduga 6) - total of 110+ launches - still in use

• PU40 (right) - first launch 24.7.77 (Raduga 6), last launch 31.3.91 (Almaz 1) - total of 64 launches - preserved

• PU39 maintenance/repair 5.86-11.86

Baikonur Test Center - Site 201 (46 01 49N, 63 01 45E)

• launch control center for Site 200 - built 1971-1976
• still in use

Baikonur Test Center - Site 92 (46 03 29N, 62 56 04E)

• Support/technical area for Sites 81, 90, 200 and the various UR-100 sites
• old integration and test building (MIK-92) built 1964 for the 8K82 launcher - Site 92-1 (46 03 25N, 62 56 00E)
• new integration and test building (MIK-92A-50) built 1987? for the 8K82K launcher - Site 92A-50 (46 03 40N, 62 55 27E)
• integration and test building (MIK-92-2) built ? for the 11K69 launcher - Site 92-2 (46 03 31N, 62 55 54E)
• missile ready building for the UR-100 missile - 46 03 36N, 62 55 52E
