Activated 20.11.60 at Maikop, Cherkass Oblast, under the 46th Missile Brigade, and from 5.61 the 35th Missile Division.
Red Banner awarded 1963.
The regiment consisted of onebattalion with 4 R-12 (SS-4) pads and one battalion with 4 R-12 silos.
The first battalion went on alert duty 18.4.61 (four R-12 pads), followed by the second battalion in 1962 (four R-12 silos).
The battalions stood down in 1980, and the regiment was transferred to Barnaul, Altaiskiy Kray 6.9.81, still attached to the 35th Missile Division.
The regiment went on alert duty 18.1.83 with 9 RSD-10 Pioner-UTTKh (15P653) (SS-20) missiles.
The regiment stood down in 1990, and began conversion to the RT-2PM (15P158) (SS-25) missile - alert duty from 30.12.91 with 9 missiles.
US designation: Maykop MRBM complex (Kurdzhipskaya and Shirvanskaya launch sites). Type II (pad) and IV (silo) sites.

Two alternative fixed field sites for the pad launchers, were set up at Tulskaya (44 81 38N, 40 14 08E) and Maikop (44 33 15N, 39 57 51E), with the Maikop site still active by 1967.
