Activated 1.10.59 in Razdolnoye, Primorskiy Kray, as the 330th Engineer Regiment RVGK, from parts of the 38th Breakthrough Artillery Division.
11.59 transferred to Znamensk, Kaliningrad Oblast - subordinated to the 72nd Engineer Brigade RVGK.
1.7.60 renamed 330th Missile Regiment, now attached to the 24th Guards Missile Division.
The regiment consisted of two battalions with each 4 R-12 (SS-4) pads.
The first battalion went on alert duty 1.10.60 (one R-12 pad), 1.1.61 (one more R-12 pad) and 25.9.61 (the last two R-12 pads), but did only have warheads for one missile until after April 1961. The second battalion went on alert duty 10.12.61 (four R-12 pads).
The two battalions stood down in 1987, and the regiment was disbanded 1987.
US designation: Znamensk MRBM complex (Znamensk launch sites 1 and 2). Type I (pad) sites.

Two alternative fixed field sites for the pad launchers, were set up at Pravdinsk (54 22 55N, 20 59 28E) and Domnovo (54 25 32N, 20 52 48E), with Pavdinsk still in use by 1967.
