The units main task were testing and operating the Rokot launcher.

From 12.89 under the 2nd Center for Tests and Application of Space Means.

Baikonur Test Center - Site 131 (46 04 17N, 62 57 28E)

• two 8K84 silos (US launch site N2 and N3) - built 1964-1965

• control site and instrumentation complex

• a third silo (middle - US launch site N4)) was built 1970-1971

• 8K84: total of 70 launches - 17.7.65-1.70 (left silo) and 31.8.65-1.70 (right silo)

• both silos modernised for the 15A20 missile 2.69-6.69

• 15A20/20U: 40 launches 23.7.69-21.10.77 (left silo) and 10 launches 29.9.69-28.12.70 (right silo)

• 15A20U: 10 launches from middle silo 10.12.71-30.1.76

• 15A30: cold launch throw tests with 15A30 models: 2 tests 9.2.72-23.6.72 (left silo)

• right silo modernised for the 15A35 missile 1979-1981

• 15A35: 10 launches 7.1.82-3.12.85 (right silo, incl. 15A35S) and 10 launches 9.10.78-12.9.81 (middle silo)

• 1976 divided into two sites: 175-1 and 175-2, when a second silo was completed (46 03 04N, 62 59 13E)

• Site 175-1 (old silo): 15A30: 10 launches 22.10.76-2.11.84 - and 14K11 (Rokot): 2 launches 21.12.91 and 26.12.94

• Site 175-2 (new silo): built 1975-76 - 15A30: 3 launches 17.5.76-12.2.77 - 15A35: 30 launches from 27.2.78 - converted to 15A35P in 1989

Baikonur Test Center - Site 94 (46 04 12N, 62 51 38E)

• integration and test building (MIK) for the Rokot orbital launcher
