Activated 12.66 in Svobodnyy, Amur Oblast, under the 27th Missile Division.

Was originally to have been stationed in the area between the 522nd Missile Regiment and the Zeya River. Three triangular towers for surveying had been set up in the area between 1965 and 1966, but the area was not developed further.

12.66 transferred to Bershet, Perm Oblast, under the 52nd Missile Division.

The regiment went on alert duty 10.4.67 with 10 UR-100 (SS-11) silos in area BRK-4.

The regiment stood down in 1974, and began conversion to the UR-100K missile - alert duty from 1975.

Disbanded 1.9.94.
