Activated 22.11.55 in Klin, Moscow Oblast, as the 6th Radio-Technical Regiment, from the 6th Regiment VNOS.

The first six radio-technical companies were activated in 1959, followed by four more in 1960.

Reduced to nine radio-technical companies in 1964.

22.2.68 awarded the Red Star.

In 1970 the 66th independent Radio-Technical Company was detached, and was replaced by the 90th independent Radio-Technical Company.

During the 1980-1984 period, several new radar positions (independent Radio-Technical companies) were constructed, and existing positions were enlarged, as the radar network in connections with the new S-300 (SA-10) missile were expanded outwards - for a total of 17 radio-technical companies - most were detached to the four Radio-Technical Centers listed below.

1.11.84 renamed 52nd Radio-Technical Brigade.
