Activated 1.10.81 in Kagan, Bukhara Oblast, from parts of the 280th independent Helicopter Regiment.
Activated to replace the 280th independent Helicopter Regiment, which was transferred to Afghanistan.
Transport-Combat Helicopter Regiment with 4 squadrons:
In 1985/1986 individual crews were sent to Kabul, Afghanistan, and was absorbed by the 50th independent Mixed Aviation Regiment.
From 3.86 part of the unit was attached to the 1038th Training Aviation Center for retraining of personnel.
In May 1986 the entire 1st squadron were detached to Chernobyl, Kiev Oblast, to help contain the nuclear accident.
Disbanded 29.12.88 - crews and aircraft were absorbed by the 157th independent Helicopter Regiment, and others.
