Formed 6.44 at Amiens. While forming, the regiment (with a new Stab from Stab II./FJR.5) was flown to Stendal, and later (7.44) flown to Vilna in Lithuania, and operated in Kampgruppe Oberst Schirmer:

8.44, Pz.AOK.3 - Vilna

9.44, XXVI.AK / AOK.4 - Memel, Gumbinnen

On 24.9.44 the regiment became Fallschirm-Grenadier-Regiment 3 Hermann Göring. Reformed 15.10.44 in Holland.
