Activated 8.10.63 in Gdansk, Poland, from the 23rd Sea Landing Division (until 1.63 the 23rd Infantry Division).

2.8.86 renamed 7th Coastal Defence Brigade.

34th Sea Landing Regiment was renamed 34th Coastal Defence Battalion
35th Sea Landing Regiment was renamed 35th Coastal Defence Battalion
11th Medium Tank Battalion was disbanded
41st Missile Battalion was disbanded
20th Multiple Rocket Launcher Battalion was renamed 20th Mixed Artillery Battalion
23rd Communications Company and other support units were united as the 7th Command Battalion
