The regiment controlled site BSP-31 with 2 R-9A pads.
From 30.4.64 under the 1st Department, and from early 1968 the 5th Test Department.
The regiment stood down in 1974.
The regiment went on limited alert duty 21.2.76 with 12 Temp-2S (15P642) (SS-16) missiles (sites BSP-31 and 5).
Disbanded in late 1976 and divided into:
54th independent Engineering & Test Unit (military unit: 07395) with 6 Temp-2S (15P642) missiles
209th independent Engineering & Test Unit (military unit: 29487) with 6 Temp-2S (15P642) missiles
