Activated 6.60 in Teykovo, Ivanovo Oblast, under the 197th Missile Brigade, and from 5.61 the 54th Guards Missile Division.

1963 with 2 battalions at two sites:

• site BSP-31 with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 20.2.64
• site BSP-33 with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 30.5.63

In March 1964 all battalions were upgraded to regiments:

• site BSP-31 remained as 602nd Missile Regiment with 2 R-16 pads
• site BSP-33 became 285th Guards Missile Regiment with 2 R-16 pads

In 1968 the regiment stood down, and the BSP-31 site was transferred to the 771st Missile Regiment.

The regiment went on alert duty 28.8.69 with 10 UR-100 (SS-11) silos at site BRK-5.

The regiment converted to the UR-100K missile in 1974.

The regiment stood down in 1990, and was disbanded (1990).
