Activated 17.5.59 in Belaya Tserkov, Kiev Oblast, as the 335th Aviation (Missile) Regiment, under the 43rd Air Army DA.
9.8.59 renamed 335th Engineer Regiment, now at Stryy, Lvov Oblast, and a day later (10.8.59) the 151st Engineer Regiment.
1.7.60 renamed 151st Missile Regiment, and came under the 44th Missile Division.
The regiment consisted of two battalions with each 4 R-12 (SS-4) pads and one battalion with 4 R-12 silos.
The first battalion went on alert duty in late 1960 (four R-12 pads), the second in 1961 (four R-12 pads), and the third battalion in 1963 (four R-12 silos).
The third battalion (four R-12 silos) stood down in 1984, followed by the 1st and 2nd battalion in 1989 (eight R-12 pads).
The regiment was disbanded 1.8.89.
US designation 1960-1989: Drogobych MRBM complex (Medenitsa, Drogobych and Stryy launch sites). Type I (pad) and IV (silo) sites.
