Activated 6.60 in Yoshkar-Ola, Mari El Republic, under the 201st Missile Brigade, and from 5.61 the 14th Missile Division. The regiment is numbered within the sequence of 669th to 694th Missile Regiment.

1963 with 3 battalions at three sites:

• 1st Battalion - BSP-3 with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 4.10.62

• 2nd Battalion - BSP-21 with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 8.7.63

• 3rd Battalion - BSP-22 with 2 R-16 pads - alert duty from 2.1.64

In March 1964 all battalions were upgraded to regiments:

• 1st Battalion remained as the 000 Missile Regiment, now with 2 R-16 pads (BSP-3)

• 2nd Battalion became 000 Missile Regiment with 2 R-16 pads (site BSP-21)

• 3rd Battalion became 558th Missile Regiment with 2 R-16 pads (site BSP-22)

In 1968 the BSP-21 and BSP-22 sites were transferred to the 000 Missile Regiment, now with:

• site BSP-3: 2 R-16 pads

• site BSP-21: 2 R-16 pads

• site BSP-22: 2 R-16 pads

The regiment stood down 1977, and was disbanded 1.11.77.

US designation 1960-1977: Yoshkar-Ola ICBM complex (Launch site C, later launch site 3). Type IIB pads.
