Activated 31.3.64 in Nizhniy Tagil, Sverdlovsk Oblast, from the 00 independent Missile Battalion, under the 42nd Missile Division.

The regiment controlled site BSP-11 with 2 R-16 (SS-7) pads - alert duty from 3.12.63.

In 1969 the regiment took over site BSP-2 from the 595th Missile Regiment and site BSP-5 from the 175th Missile Regiment:

• site BSP-11 with 2 R-16 pads

• site BSP-2 with 2 R-16 pads

• site BSP-5 with 2 R-16 pads

The regiment stood down in 1977, and was disbanded 1977.
