Activated 1967 in Drovyanaya, Chitinskaya Oblast, under the 4th Missile Division.

The regiment went on alert duty with 9 Temp-S (SS-12) missiles in 1967.

Transferred to the Soviet Army in 1968, and renamed 124th Missile Brigade in 1969.
