Activated 1.6.61 in Sevastopol, Crimean Oblast, from the 1007th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment (activated 1958).

Initially with 5 S-75 (SA-2) battalions, followed by 7 S-125 (SA-3) (including mobilisation) battalions in 1967.

Organisation 1960's:

In 1969 an independent Anti-Aircraft Missile Group with 3 launch S-200 (SA-5) battalions were added to the brigade:

1989 one S-200 (SA-5) battalions was disbanded, followed by the S-125 (SA-3) battalions in 1990-1991.

1991 with 2 S-200 (SA-5) and 5 S-75 (SA-2) battalions.

In early 1991 began conversion to the S-300PS (SA-10) missile (four battalions ready or converting by 1.92):

1.92 taken over by Ukraine - 1.4.2004 renamed 174th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.
