20.12.63 the 16th independent Aviation Squadron was activated in Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk Kray.

In 8.65 the 38th independent Border Guard Ship Battalion was activated from the group of ships within the 56th Border Guard Detachment, and the 39th independent Border Guard Ship Battalion from the group of ships within the 70th Border Guard Detachment.

In 1965 the 55th Border Guard Detachment was activated in Skovorodino, Amur Oblast.

31.3.67 the Hospital in Chita, the 51st, 53rd, 54th and 74th Border Guard Detachments were transferred to the new Transbaykal Border District.

In 3.67 the 40th independent Border Guard Ship Battalion was activated in Leninskoye, Yevreyskaya Autonomous Oblast, and 41st independent Border Guard Ship Battalion in Dzhalinda, Amur Oblast.

In 1967 the 78th Border Guard Detachment was activated in Shimanovsk, Amur Oblast.

30.6.69 the Regional Military Hospital was opened in Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk Kray.

In 1969 the independent Border Guard Ship Battalions were upgraded to brigades:

• 41st independent Border Guard Ship Battalion was renamed 11th independent Border Guard Ship Brigade
• 38th independent Border Guard Ship Battalion was renamed 12th independent Border Guard Ship Brigade

During the 1960's two more Border Guard Detachment were activated, the 63rd in Birobidzhan, Yevreyskaya Autonomous Oblast, and the 75th in Raychikhinsk, Amur Oblast.
