In 4.55 the 1720th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment was renamed 1043rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment.

In 6.57 reorganised (ordered 12.3.57):

In 1960 the 72nd independent Tank Training Battalion was disbanded.

In 3.63 the 290th Motorised Rifle Regiment was transferred to the 26th Guards Motorised Rifle Division, and was replaced by the 79th Guards Motorised Rifle Regiment.

19.2.62 re-organised:

In 1968 the 183rd independent Guards Sapper Battalion was renamed 183rd independent Guards Engineer-Sapper Battalion.

From 21.8.68 part of the division took part in the invasion of Czechoslovakia (HQ, 89th and 117th Tank Regiments, 86th independent Reconnaissance Battalion), but returned home in 10.68.

In 1980 the 000 independent Motor Transport Battalion was renamed 1037th independent Material Supply Battalion.

In 1990 the 98th Guards Tank Regiment was renamed 501st independent Guard and Service Battalion.

1998 renamed 385th Weapons and Equipment Storage Base.
