Activated in 1960 from the 330th independent Aviation Reconnaissance Regiment, as the 215th independent Aviation Squadron for Tactical Reconnaissance.
8.84 renamed 151st independent Aviation Regiment for Electronic Warfare, with two squadrons:
1st AE from the 215th independent Aviation Squadron for Tactical Reconnaissance with Yak-28PP
2nd AE from a squadron from the 882nd independent Aviation Reconnaissance Regiment with Yak-28PP
Reorganised 8.89 - the 1st AE was disbanded, and reformed from the 3rd AE of the 164th independent Guards Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment with MiG-25BM, and the 2nd AE was doubled in size with the Yak-28PP from the disbanded 1st AE - now had 26 Yak-28PP and 5 Yak-28U.
In 7.90 a 3rd AE was activated from the 3rd AE of the 931st independent Guards Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment with MiG-25BM.
1.1.92 taken over by Belorussia - disbanded 1.93.
