Activated 1947 in Frunze (Bishkek), Chui Oblast, as the Frunze Military Air School of Pilots - activated from the Odessa Aviation School of Pilots, which had evacuated to Frunze in 1941.

1956 began training of foreign pilots.

6.8.59 renamed 5th Central Course for Preparation and Improvement of Aviation Personnel (5th TSK PUAK).

1.1.92 taken over by Kirgizistan, and later renamed Aviation Base Ministry of Defence Kirgizistan (VVB MO KR).

During the period 1957 - 1992 trained 21682 people from 54 countries (5698 pilots, 749 navigators, 469 combat control officers, 165 radio operators, 8998 aircraft technicians and 5000+ other specialists).
