11.2.49 renamed 249th Fighter Aviation Division VVS VMF.

In 2.49 the 582nd Fighter Aviation Regiment left the division.

25.3.49 (directive 10.1.49) renamed 165th Fighter Aviation Division VVS VMF.

5.8.52 the 305th Fighter Aviation Regiment VVS VMF was replaced by the 88th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment VVS VMF.

2.53 to 8.53 the 781st Fighter Aviation Regiment VVS VMF was detached to the 216th Fighter Aviation Division PVO in China.

20.4.55 the 88th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment VVS VMF was replaced by the 31st Fighter Aviation Regiment VVS VMF.

1.2.57 transferred to the Air Defence Forces, and renamed 165th Fighter Aviation Division PVO.
