Formed 26.8.39 in Brandenburg from parts of II./Flak-Regiment 22 with 5 Batterien (1. - 3. schwere, 4. - 5. leichte). Until 7.42 known as Res.Flak-Abt. 224.

In 10.41 4./Res.224 became 5./496, and was reformed from Fla-MG-Res.Kp. 151.

Reorganised as a schwere Abteilung in 4.42:

4./Res.224 became 1./822, and was reformed from 1./990 (at once became 3./838 and was reformed)
5./Res.224 became 4./838

5. and 6./s.224 was formed in 6.43.

In 12.44 reorganised as a gemischte Abteilung (v) with 3 Batterien:

1./s.224 became 8./326, and was reformed from 4./211
2./s.224 became 9./326, and was reformed from 3./s.224
3./s.224 became 6./433, and was reformed from 8./326 (RAD), at once became 2./gem.224 and was reformed from 8./362
4./s.244 became 4./211
5./s.244 became 10./326
6./s.224 became 8./211 (RAD)
